See what I mean? Four months. Four months goes by in the blink of an eye. Writing is a game of inches – especially when writing something as long as a novel. You have to force yourself to write everyday. If you don’t, then you will quickly find yourself caught. Fighting against the words, instead of commanding them. Writing is floating downstream. If you are having to paddle too much, you are going the wrong way.
So, find a time and a place that is yours and yours alone. Get up early. Write two thousand words. Or a thousand. Or even five hundred. But write something.
