For those who care about such things, the style guide at the New York Times (and other media outlets) is about to change their prescription for how the word “internet” is spelled. The word is no longer to be capitalized, marking a transition shared by many words of the past: phonograph, electricity, and telephone.
Much of my book takes place on the Network-Formerly-Known-As-The-Internet, so this means another round of editing for me. Not a big deal, but noteworthy, in my opinion.
